Dam Square

Dam Square is the most iconic and the most recognizable place in Amsterdam. The square was built in 1275, initially serving as a fish market near the sea harbor. Today, the square contains a city hall and is surrounded by The Royal Palace, De Niewe Kerk, Madame Tussauds, and Bijenkorf shopping center.
